Principles & Practices of Assistive Technology:
PPAT is a project-based class in which small teams get paired with a local client living with a disability in order to develop a device, piece of equipment, or app to help them live more independently.
In a team of 3, I was able to help develop Show & TILL, a modular tactile communication kit to be used by various individuals at the TILL Day-Habilitation center. The biggest challenge we faced was scaling the project so that it was doable in a semester yet still maximize the number of individuals it could serve at TILL.

Constraints
Constraint One: The indiviuals at TILL are at a variety of communications levels. Some can manage 6 symbols (left) at a time while others can only manage 2 symbols (right).
Brainstorming
With so many individuals to account for and varying capabilites, we had to put ourselves in the shoes of the individual and think of all the ways they could take get the most out of our kit.
